Wind is the harshest weather condition on the eyes. I am constantly amazed at how difficult it is to go out into the wind on a windy day and have to deal with the craziness outside. I live in a place that is very windy, and a lot of the time you will wake up to find the wind howling, and leading to many itchy eyes! I struggle with allergies pretty badly, and whenever it gets really windy my allergies act up like crazy, and I get so sick and tired of dealing with them.
I recently moved across the country as mentioned earlier, and I have been thinking about why I have been dealing more with my allergies on a day to day basis, and I have realized that it isn’t necessarily that the pollen count is higher here, but perhaps that the wind is worse, leading to more damaging effects with my eyes. I had to go from using my contacts frequently to just wearing my glasses and it became incredibly annoying. I get sick of not being able to wear my contacts like I would like to. I blame it all on the wind, for with the wind acting up, there really is no way to predict your eye health!
